The residence

We bought the house in early 2024 and have spent the year refurnishing it and making it more ours.  We have decorated it in Scandinavian and French styles reflecting both our cultural background (we are born and raised in Iceland) and the history of the house which was originally built in the 18th century as a farmhouse for the nearby Chateau which was built in 1751.  The refurnished house is 160 square meters.  We intend to revitalize the space next door as well in the coming years, doubling the living space.

Living area
Downstairs is a large living area with sofas, a large dining table, a TV and some playing area.  We plan on intstalling a fireplace in the space later this year.  Tablecloths, silverware, glasware and tableware are carefully selected and can be used by our guests. Our house has high-speed WiFI Enjoy high-speed.
Fully equipped kitchen
A large, fully equipped kitchen is also on the ground floor.  The kitchen is equipped with a new stove and offers all equipment needed to make a restaurant-style meal.  There is also sitting available in the kitchen – a very old French farmhouse table with two benches.  While sturdy we ask guests to treat it with care.  Outdoors is a nice Weber grill and a pizza oven.
Outside area
The expansive outdoor area features lush green fields, perfect for relaxation and leisure. The house and its large grounds is surrounded by a large wall, offering ideal privacy. The outdoor space is very big.  A 80 square meter terrace has been built in front of the house, suitable for dining, relaxing and playing (guests can use the ping pong table.  The outdoor furniture consist of a stylish dining table and chairs, some lounge chairs and a sofa and a table.  While we also plan to built a small pool on the large grassy area in front of the house, we enjoy using the grounds now for play and ball games.
Bedrooms and bathrooms
Our house features four bedrooms on the second floor and sleeps eight people.  There is a separate toilet upstairs and a separate bathroom with a bathtub and shower.  The master bedroom also has a bathtub.  Downstairs is a bathroom with a shower, wash maching and a dryer.  All bedrooms have new beds, comfortable linen and some storage space.
